What is the meaning of Regenerative Agriculture?
Some have defined regenerative agriculture as “any and all forms of agricultural practice that actively restore soil quality, biodiversity, ecosystems health, water quality while producing sufficient food of high nutritional quality.”
Proponents of regenerative agriculture avoid using chemical pesticides and advocate for methods like crop rotation, livestock rotation, composting, no-till farming, agroecology, and agroforestry.
We have chosen to follow the regenerative agriculture method on our farm. We are actively composting, using both our animal waste, vegetable/household scraps and vermiculture to enrich our soil - with the goal of eventually growing a large part of our produce on our small farm!
